Evan Cross
เล่นได้Reader-controlled investigator and possible protocol architect
A memory-forensics investigator trained to separate testimony from implanted recall. Evan now has to apply that discipline to his own mind.
Someone is editing your memories in real time.
The Afterimage Clinic can reconstruct damaged memories, but tonight its records are rewriting themselves after every conversation. Evan's body shows signs of a procedure he does not remember authorizing. Nora has a file signed tomorrow in Evan's handwriting, while clinic director Soren Pike insists Nora is a patient who escaped containment. Physical evidence, personal memories and security footage disagree. Establish anchors that cannot be edited, uncover who initiated the protocol and decide whether saving the present requires destroying the future that sent the warning.

The recovery room mirror identifies you as DECEASED: EVAN CROSS, 23:58. The clock above it reads 23:17. A fresh incision behind your ear suggests someone has already accessed the memory port you came here to investigate. Your phone contains one new recording in your own voice: “Nora Vale will rewrite you at midnight. Do not let her reach the archive, even if she remembers what you did.” As the message ends, its creation date changes from tomorrow to three years ago. The door unlocks. Nora enters carrying a paper file signed by you and dated tomorrow. Behind the observation glass, Director Soren Pike raises a red containment card. Nora sets the file within reach. “Before you decide which of us is lying,” she says, “ask why the clinic already has a death certificate for a man who still has forty-one minutes left.”
A near-future thriller about memory, identity, and whether the truth should stay unchanged.
